The Brief & Solution

This Bexhill garden was after a complete reset. The client wanted something clean, contemporary and low-maintenance, while keeping the space social and practical for everyday family life. Clean lines and a neutral palette were key to the brief, along with planting that would look good year-round without a lot of upkeep.

We reworked the whole garden around a structured layout with clearly zoned areas for different uses, using materials to break up the space and create a real sense of journey through the garden. Large-format porcelain paving forms the backbone of the design, with gravel and wood sleepers used to soften the edges. Composite decking from Millboard zones the seating area; we chose a weathered finish specifically to add texture and create contrast against the paving. A new pergola keeps this area enclosed and sheltered, whatever the weather.

One of the real highlights was adding a new greenhouse, the perfect spot for the client to grow their own vegetables, tucked neatly alongside gravel and raised planting beds. A crisp new lawn ties the whole space together, and the result is a garden that feels calm, considered and completely transformed.
